Downs Day 29: The fire has completely gone out. We have fixed the air
conditioner, but it may be for the worst. The temperature gauge has
been broken, and it has brought about a fierce cold. Everything in the apartment has
been frozen solid.
Nate and I huddle together with the torn blankets we salvaged from the closet earlier before it completely caved in. Nate's mouth has completely frozen shut from his lack of teeth, and he can only mumble now. It seems as though the icy weather here has affected both of us. We have started communicating in a type of cave man language. Nate even crafted a wooden spear to fend off the other dangers that have made their way into the apartment. It seems as though the icy temperature has attracted a group of wolves that have made their den in my bedroom. We dare not go in there on fear of death.
Nate is certain that this semester will be our last, but I will make sure that we come out on top of this bleak situation. We have been abandoned by all who could have helped, now all we must do is survive. We will survive.
